Why we do this and what makes it so gratifying.

One of the things I like about Junk Hauling is the people we meet and the interesting things we sometimes haul away.
This bedroom set in the picture was almost dumped. We tried both Ramona Food and Clothes closet and Goodwill in town. Both said they item was too big and they don't have room to store it. As a last ditch effort I took it to the Ramona Transfer station and asked if I could offer it to the employees before having to dump it. As I went into the facility I offered it to the first person I encountered. He was super exited to take it thrilled I was giving it to him for free.
We run into lots of instances where we're doing property clean outs or the customers lost a family member and they just need to move on and get rid of the stuff left behind. Lots of times its hard for them to let some of the stuff go and it still holds meaning to them. We get requests all the time from customers who ask if we can keep the stuff or donate and maybe even sell. They want to know that it's not just going to be trashed. We here at Estates Junk Removal do everything we can to keep those requests that are asked of us. I wouldn't consider myself that old but I'm old fashion. I still believe in keeping your promises and doing what you say you're going to do. I still have an old swing set in my backyard that I hauled away for a customer that was forced to move. She told me her Dad built that wood swing set for her and she didn't want to see it get dumped or cut up. I still have that swing set in my yard and one day plan to restore it. I saw that customer a while after that job and showed a picture of the swing set in my backyard. It practically brought a tear to her eye. She was sure it was in the landfill.
Stories like that are what make it all worth it to us. Giving new life to someones else's unwanted items and seeing there reaction when we assure them we will do everything we can to find some use for it makes the job so much more satisfying.
